The Most Anticipated Albums of 2011

2010 has been over for some time and we’re all probably ready to move on. 2011 could be a great year for music.

Justin Timberlake, No Doubt, D’Angelo and The White Stripes have all been rumored to be working on new albums. This is strictly hearsay, but if these artists, along with the ones listed below, release albums in the coming months, 2011 is shaping up to be a solid year for quality music.

Elektra Records
Album Title and Release Date TBA

» With their last album released in 2008, rumors of the French duo finally dropping another album will be music to a lot of their fans’ ears. While they’ve been in record label limbo, JUSTICE has finally found a home at the newly revamped Elektra Records. Living up to the success of their smash hit D.A.N.C.E from the Grammy-nominated album Cross will be this tandem’s toughest challenge.

Lady Gaga
Interscope Records
Born This Way – Release Date May 23rd

» Following up the success of The Fame would have been tough for anyone, but Gaga did it a year later with The Fame Monster. The expectations are even higher now, but if her latest single, “Born This Way” is any indication of what to expect, Lady Gaga fans won’t disappoint.

Britney Spears
Jive Records
Album Title and Release Date TBA

» It may baffle some as to how Britney Spears has continued to capture the imagination and attention of so many for so long, but with tracks reportedly from her new album already leaking onto the internet, there’s proof the public wants more Britney. With production from Dr. Luke and Max Martin, Spears’ seventh studio album will continue to have pop appeal with a little bit of an edge.

Dr. Dre
Detox – Release Date TBA

» We’ve all heard the story over and over again (even mentioned in this magazine) about the announcement by Dr. Dre himself that Detox will see the light of day sometime in 2011. With the expectations Dre fans have put on this album, fairly or not, it will be scrutinized thoroughly. With a lukewarm reception to what is reportedly the first single, “Kush,” it’s plausible the Doctor will go back into the lab and retool this album. Again.
