The U.S. men’s indoor volleyball team finished in 13th place at the World University Games in Shenzhen, China, leaving the tournament with five wins and three losses. The annual tournament took place Aug. 13-26. The team roster consisted of Erik Shoji, Kawika Shoji and Brad Lawson from Stanford; Tri Bourne, Murphy Troy and Riley Mckibbin from Southern California; Jeff Menzel from UC Santa Barbara; Corey Yoder and Carson Clarke from UC Irvine; Thomas Amberg and Weston Dunlap from UCLA; and Ryan Meehan from Long Beach State. The team was led by head coach Gordon Mayforth and assistant coaches Pete Hanson (Ohio State) and JT Wenger (UCLA).
