Boys High Performance program a good opportunity for many

USA Volleyball has announced the first collection of confirmed 2012 dates and locations for tryouts for the boys High Performance program. The tryouts, scheduled for cities including Denver, Colo., San Mateo, Calif., and Vernon Hill, Ill., among others, include evaluation opportunities for players in four different age groups. Additional tryouts in February and March are expected to be scheduled, including a second tryout in the Chicago area, two tryouts in the Mid-Atlantic region, and a tryout in both Phoenix and Honolulu.

The goal of the USAV High Performance Program is to build a national pipeline of junior volleyball athletes to move directly towards advanced volleyball opportunities. These particular tryouts are geared towards players in four categories: junior (born in 1993 or 1994), youth (born in 1995 or 1996), select (born in 1997 or 1998) and future select (born in 1999 or 2000). Tryouts cost $65 for early/online registration, $75 for faxed or mailed registrations, and $100 for walk-up.

Online registration is now open.
