Competition at the Boys Junior Nationals

Starting with the 2012 USA Volleyball Boys Junior National Championships, organizers have decided to combine the 12 Club and 13 Club Divisions in an effort to help spur growth in this sector, which has experienced low registration numbers in recent years. All 12-and-under teams and players are still encouraged to enter in the 13 Club Division, which will play on the 13-and-under net height of 7’ 4 1/8”.

The Junior Nationals will continue to have Open Divisions in each age group from ages 14 to 18, alongside club titles for ages 13 to 18. USAV said that by combining the two lowest age groups, all boys will be able to participate and the hope is that the 12 Club Division will return at some point in the future.

The boys Junior Nationals are scheduled for July 1-8 at the Dallas Convention Center.

The Rise of East Coast Boy’s volleyball
The Class of 2013 shows tremendous talent at every position. West Coast volleyball has always reigned supreme buy young raw talent is rising on the East Coast. The Class of 2013 features some of the best players the East Coast has ever seen. East Coast clubs like Pace Bootleggers, Yorktowne volleyball club, and even Warren Sixpak volleyball club features the best player in the class of 2013. The Pace bootleggers have a tremendous 6, 5 setter and Outside hitter called Christian Blough. This kid made the A1 team and is going to be a top prospect. Yorktowne volleyball club features Mitch Stahl and Connor Lammey. Stahl is a 6, 7 opposite/outside hitter and Connor Lammey is a 6, 5 A1 Middle Blocker. Last but not the least is Warren Sixpak volleyball club. This is a rising volleyball club in NJ and features great raw talent. Middle Blocker Ehidiamen Oboh (jr) and Outside Hitter Aidan Albrecht are tremendous volleyball player. Oboh is a 6, 6 aggressive middle that has the longest arms I’ve ever seen while Albrecht is a 6, 6 outside that is going to be a phenomenal volleyball player. These players I’ve mentioned are going to be recruited to top schools hopefully. East Coast volleyball is improving and these volleyball players will show it at the collegiate level. Watch out for the East Coast!
