The way we read magazines is changing.
We don’t have any doubt that people will continue to read magazines, especially enthusiasts who look to a publication like Volleyball to keep them abreast on what is going on in this exciting sporting world, both here and abroad. And with events like the Olympics on our horizon, we know that you are turning to the magazine as a resource even more than before.
But the idea of sticking to a print version of the magazine alone is changing and evolving. Last year we relaunched volleyballmag.com to make it a go-to resource for volleyball news, information, statistics, and photos. You can comment on articles, share images, and interact through our Twitter and Facebook pages. Although much of the print magazine’s content makes it up onto our website, you are missing out on the experience of looking at the complete page, admiring the hard work put in by our graphic design team, and viewing text + photos in the manner that we think is best to convey the mood and essence of the story.
In that spirit, we have rolled out Volleyball magazine on the iPad and iPhone. Now in addition to your print subscription (or in lieu of) you can view every page of the publication right on your iPad, through an app conveniently placed in the Apple Newsstand. Search the App Store for Volleyball magazine and download the free app to start reading. Although we know some of you are happy with the physical magazine and will stick to that reading style, there are many others out there who will be excited about this advance in our digital capabilities. Reading Volleyball magazine is now easier than ever before, whether you are traveling, at a match, hanging out at the beach, or just lounging around at home.
The first issues available on the iPad are the May and June 2012 issues.
