Eco-friendly sandal company Honu is working to provide beach-goers with comfortable and stylish footwear, while also protecting the delicate sea turtle population. With two percent of the sale of every sandal going torwards turtle rescue and rehab organizations, this company is practicing what they preach.
With beach volleyball icons like Ty Loomis, Phil Dalhausser, and Sinjin Smith joining the team, Honu—“sea turtle” in Hawaiian—is poised to make waves on the beach volleyball scene. It also has a partnership with the National Volleyball League (NVL) and recently co-sponsored the National Collegiate Sand Volleyball Associations’ (NCSVA) Championship. Honu also hosts events for other sports such as wakeboarding and surfing.
