The Brazilian players and coaches took a moment to celebrate their gold medal win

Although they failed to win gold, losing to Brazil in four sets in the final for the second Olympics in a row, the U.S. women's indoor volleyball team came into the gold medal match undefeated, having dropped only two sets throughout the Games. They even managed to take the first set from the reigning gold medalists with relative ease, but the Brazilian players and their fans stepped it up and the U.S. couldn't stop the next three games from slipping through their hands.

Destinee Hooker, a first-time Olympian, was the clear choice for Team USA MVP. She scored somewhere around a third of all the U.S.'s points throughout competition. Six-four, long arms, and unbelievable hang time! She was almost unstoppable and a delight to watch.

You'll find our favorite shots of Hooker and her teammates Lindsey Berg, Jordan Larson, Christa Harmotto, Foluke Akinradewo, Logan Tom and the rest of the incredibly talented silver medal team in this photo gallery.
