Body Movin’

Calvin Harris feat. Ne-Yo: "Let's Go"

During the winter, the thought of getting out of your warm bed seems anything but appealing, especially not to then drag yourself to go workout. Whether you’re a gym rat or starting your first exercise program, you might need to tell yourself all kinds of things in order to take that first step towards the front door to get your body moving. One of the things that can help get you going is music. Tunes can have an amazing effect on our moods. They can cause you to be sad, happy, or even angry (just ask any parent whose kid makes them listen to dubstep). They can also make you do things you wouldn’t normally do, like speed in your car, sing at the top of your lungs, and even do a ridiculous dance because the lyrics in the song told you to. The trick is listening to your body and seeing how it reacts to certain songs. Try it today. Pay attention to how your body responds to songs on the radio. Do you feel your body temperature go up? Are you gripping the steering wheel a little harder? Do you have the biggest smile on your face? You’ll be amazed what you discover. In the meantime, below are some tracks that help me wrench myself out of bed and into the gym. Perhaps they’ll help you too!
