Michigan's junior outside hitter Lexi Erwin had 26 kills in the five-game semifinal versus Texas. But one excellent hitter wasn't enough to compete with the combined Longhorn attack of Khat Bell (11 kills), Sha'Dare McNeal (13 kills), Bailey Webster (18 kills), and Haley Eckerman (16 kills).

Michigan used fierce defense and determination to take the eventual national championship squad to five sets, posting final scores of 25-11, 21-25, 23-25, 25-12, 15-11.
