What will be the song of the summer?

Some songs to get your summer started.
Some songs to get your summer started.

The weather starts to heat up, beaches get more crowded with each passing weekend, and pool parties pop up on every block – summer must be just around the corner. With it comes new music from artists vying for that coveted “Summer Anthem” title. Who will be this year’s “Get Lucky,” “Blurred Lines,” or “Wake Me Up?” It’s too early to tell, but Calvin Harris is gunning for it with his latest single, aptly titled “Summer,” and you can bet there’s an artist in a studio right now working on a track that will become the smash hit of the 2014 beach season. The artist may not know they’ve come up with this year’s it-song, but when you hear it for the first time on the radio, you will. The song will end up getting overplayed and we’ll all be sick of it by fall, but for years to come, every time you hear the song, it will bring you right back to the summer of 2014.
