The AVP released its 2015 schedule today after much anticipation by players and fans alike.
In early March, the AVP announced that the season would kick off in New Orleans over Memorial Day weekend, but otherwise the tour was quiet on the details. The schedule released today features seven tour stops, but a large gap looms between the opener in New Orleans and the next installment which isn’t until August 6 in Seattle.
Also in August will be the Manhattan Beach Open (August 13-16) and the Chicago Open (August 27-30). The following month will be the Cincinnati Open in its traditional Labor Day weekend slot (September 3-6) and the AVP Championships at Huntington Beach take place the next weekend, September 10-13.
The AVP indicated that another tournament, somewhere in the Northeast, will be announced at a later date. For the past two years, the AVP has stopped in Atlantic City, but other past stops in the Northeast have included Long Island, Boston, Rhode Island, Belmar, and Cape Cod.
