Scott Touzinsky

Scott Touzinsky, a 6’7″ outside hitter who played on the gold-medal-winning 2008 U.S. Men’s Olympic Team, is a familiar face to Berlin volleyball fans by now. He’s been playing for the Berlin Recycling Volleys four seasons now (with the exception of half the 2011-2012 season, which he spent in Puerto Rico), living happily in the bustling city with his wife Angelique and son Logan and serving as team captain. This year, he has the pleasure of playing with fellow American Kawika Shoji, a former Stanford player and currently one of the setters on the U.S. national team.

Jeff Menzel

Former UC Santa Barbara outside hitter Jeff Menzel returned to Belgium after competing with the national team at the Grand Champions Cup in Brazil. This season is his first with pro team Noliko Maaseik; last year he competed for New Mater Volley in Italy.

Joe Sunder

Joe Sunder, an All-American outside hitter out of Penn State, also finds himself competing in Germany this season. Playing for TV Ingersoll Bhl, Sunder competes in the same German national league as Touzinsky’s Berlin Recycling Volleys. Americans dominate the middle on Sunder’s team, as 2012 UCLA grad Nick Vogel also plays the position for TV Ingersoll Bhl.
