Sunday was a great day for Brazil when it came to playing the USA and for fans of the sport who made it off the beach, like the WannaBes, who then went to the Pyramid.
Brazil won the men’s and women’s titles at the World Series of Beach Volleyball in Long Beach, beating Americans both times, and then Sunday night at Long Beach State the Brazil men’s team beat Team USA in five to kick off the USA Volleyball Cup.
The two men’s teams play again Tuesday at the University of San Diego and then meet Wednesday at USC, before finishing the four-match competition Saturday at UC Irvine. All the matches can be seen at https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Volleyball/Events/International/USAV-Cup Thanks, by the way, to Josh Wells of the Wannabes for the photo.
