A few calls made in the 2014 NCAA women’s volleyball tournament proved to be very controversial. During the Washington-Nebraska game, a few lines calls caused an uproar, and in the Texas-BYU semifinal match, a touch off the block called by the down ref angered Texas head coach Jerritt Elliott so much he got a yellow card for his complaints.

Women’s national team head coach and ESPN commentator Karch Kiraly has had the opportunity on the international level to ask for reviews of calls made by officials using instant replay technology. In this video he explains how it works and the benefits of utilizing this tool.
