LSU Adds Head Coach’s Daughter to 2015 Roster

Lindsay Flory committed to play for her mother at LSU.

LSU’s head coach Fran Flory will have the unique opportunity of coaching her offspring when Lindsay Flory starts her college career at the Baton Rouge-based school this fall. Lindsay Flory will be one of five freshmen on the Tigers 2015 roster. In her high school career at University Laboratory School in Baton Rouge, the 5’11” setter led her team to a 133-34 overall record and won four consecutive district championships.

Last September, LSU’s student newspaper The Daily Reveille published a story about the mother-daughter duo in which Lindsay said she didnt want to play for her mother in college and Fran expressed a desire for her daughter to have the experience of going away for college. However, in a press release from the LSU athletic department after Lindsay’s signing in April, Fran Flory said, It is not every day that you get the opportunity to coach your own child, and I am excited that she chose LSU.
