San Diego, now No. 2, and Santa Clara, now No. 3, changed places but all the other top eight teams stayed in place in this week’s VolleyballMag.com Mid-Major Poll.
BYU, like Santa Clara 9-0, remained No. 1. San Diego, 5-2, is coming off a home-tournament weekend in which the Toreros beat UC Irvine, Colorado and UCLA, then ranked No. 7 in the AVCA Division I Poll.
The rest of the top eight shows No. 4 Hawai’i, No. 5 Western Kentucky, No. 6 Dayton (with the best record in the nation at 10-0), No. 7 Wichita State and No. 8 Creighton, who this week is tied with Missouri State.
Newcomers this week are UC Santa Barbara, which jumped in at No. 19, and UNLV at No. 24.
The biggest jumps were by Lipscomb, up from No. 19 to 12, and Long Beach State, which moved from No. 20 to 13.
