Nicole Davis, a two-time Olympic libero for the U.S. Women’s National Team, has announced her decision to retire from the sport. The 33-year-old two-time NCAA national champion at USC contributed to two Olympic silver medals for Team USA and the gold medal at World Championships last year.
“There were several variables that went into my decision, most notable my health, and my desire to spend more time with my friends and family at home in the United States,” explained Davis. “I’ve missed a lot of moments with them in the last 11 years. I wouldn’t change anything I’ve done. I’ve met so many incredible people while playing overseas and on the USA Team, and I feel very fortunate to have them in my lives and as such great friends! I also know it’s a privilege to represent the USA in an Olympics, and I was lucky, I got to do it twice!”
